The
2009 (3rd edition) of the Lee Industrial Microhydraulics Handbook is now
available. This 210 page handbook has been significantly updated and
includes a wide range of new products, all of which are presented in a clear
and concise, colour coded design. A red section features components designed
for installation into metal manifolds and fittings for high volume
industrial and automotive applications, a blue section for components
intended for installation into plastic manifolds and fittings for low
pressure, medical applications and finally, a grey section providing useful
technical engineering data. Accompanying the handbook is a CD which contains
a fully indexed PDF file of the IMH handbook.
The
Lee IMH 2.5mm Insert Style Orifice is the smallest, self-retained restrictor
available, allowing designers to save space and weight whilst reducing
overall design and assembly time. The 2.5mm restrictors are available in two
ranges, for gas or liquid applications, and are 100% tested on nitrogen or
water to ensure that every part is within +/- 5% of its nominal flow rate,
providing more consistent performance and reducing the need for system
rework. Flow tolerances as tight as this are only possible if entrance and
exit conditions are closely controlled. This provides far greater accuracy
than an orifice specified by hole tolerance. Constructed entirely of
stainless steel, the insert orifices are available in a range of Lohm rates
and certain models are offered with an integral safety screen.
The
new Lee 8mm IMH Shuttle Valve is a miniature, economical and reliable
solution to the problem of hydraulic isolation in manifolds. This new valve
features a compact, non-detented, selective design. At just 8mm in diameter
and 16mm long, this valve offers more than twice the flow capacity over our
existing 5.5mm diameter model, and is the most compact 6 GPM valve
available. This valve is ideal as a signal for auxiliary functions, such as
hydraulically released, spring-applied brakes and load sensing applications.
Designed for reliable operation, each valve is 100% performance tested for
flow and leakage to ensure consistent, long term performance.
This cartridge-style shuttle valve installs easily into a drilled hole,
eliminating the need for threads, o-rings or in-house designs. Constructed
entirely of stainless steel, the shuttle valve features low leakage and a
maximum working pressure of 28 MPa (4,060 psi).
The IMH Screens are "last chance" safety screens designed to protect
critical fluid control components against rogue contamination in high volume
industrial and automotive applications. The screens are constructed from
stainless steel woven wire mesh and are available in 5.5, 8, 10 and 12 mm
diameters in three different configurations; insert, cartridge (with single
layer screen) and high pressure cartridge (with multi layer screen). The
screens are all rated at 125 microns absolute. The insert screens feature an
integral locking end whilst the 5.5 and 8 mm diameter cartridge screens can
be held in place with 5.5 or 8 mm diameter reverse flow IMH check valves, if
required.
